The position will be based at the EFL’s National Control Centre in Vuda, Lautoka and will report to the Team Leader Operations Planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of switching programs to enable maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures at minimum costs and interruption;
• Carry out analysis for release of Distribution network and generators;
• Prepare and monitor annual maintenance plans for all generation and Network assets;
• Prepare commissioning programs for all Generation, Network and Communication elements;
• Audit Permit To Work Permit to Test, Reclose Block Permits and Vegetation Permits;
• Maintain maintenance performance and generate reports;
• Should be prepared to undertake other studies in order to maintain Knowledge of current practices in System Control;
• Preparation and generation of Breakdown of HV Supply reports;
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Switching Coordinator.

Key Requirements

• The candidate must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and have at least three years of appropriate professional experience in an electrical utility;
• Candidate must have thorough operational knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, protection & control equipment and SCADA and must be a Computer literate and be able to prepare technical reports;
• A valid full Group two driver’s license will be an added advantage.
