PLANNED POWER SHUTDOWN – SUNDAY 3rd NOVEMBER, 2019

MAINTENANCE WORKS ON THE SABETO TO QELELOA 33kV TRANSMISSION LINE AND 11kV DISTRIBUTION LINES

Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) wishes to advise its valued customers that planned maintenance works will be carried out on the 33,000 Volts Sabeto to Sigatoka transmission line on Sunday 3rd November, 2019. In addition to this, maintenance works will also be carried out on the 11,000 Volts distribution lines in the Qeleloa, Nawai, Malolo, Nawaka, Solovi, Mulomulo, Meigahnia, Nausori Highlands, Natadola, Sanasana and Nadi Back Road areas.

In order to carry out the repair and maintenance, EFL Engineers will need to switch off the 33,000 Volts transmission line from Sabeto to Qeleloa and part of the 11,000 Volts line at Malolo, Qeleloa, Nadi Back Road and Natadola from 5:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday 3rd November, 2019.

Power supply to parts of Nadi and Natadola will be switched off for safety reasons to allow our teams to carry out maintenance works on the 33,000 Volts transmission and 11,000 Volts distribution lines.

EFL wishes to thank those Hotels and Resorts who have agreed to go off the EFL grid in order to allow us to minimize the disruption to all our other customers in the Sigatoka to Coral Coast areas. Weather permitting, these works will be undertaken as follows:

AS CIRCUMSTANCES MAY CAUSE ANY POWER LINE TO BE ELECTRIFIED AT ANY TIME, PLEASE TREAT EVERY POWERLINE AS BEING LIVE AND STAY CLEAR.

Works are planned to be carried out on Sunday due to the low electricity demand on this day, which will result in minimum disruption to our customers.
