The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Head Office, Suva and will report to the Team Leader Network Design & Planning Central.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Team Leader Design & Planning in processing Application for power supply for new customers in Rural, Commercial & Industrial sectors;
- Co-ordinate site meetings with Developers and Investors applying for power supply and finalizing decisions;
- Create and verify cost estimates, using costing software, for network extension proposals as per approved budget for the financial year;
- Prepare Quotation Letter for approval by the Department/Divisional Head/CEO on particular extensions schemes;
- Prepare Project implementation files for projects paid by Developers, Investors, the Government, Utilities, Telecommunication Companies or other Stakeholders;
- Enter a Distribution high voltage Substation with a competent personnel from Network SBA for site checks, and planning works for extension of grids;
- Assist the Network Design Engineer/ Electrical Engineer with Distribution system augmentations works or design of the 33 kV sub-transmission lines for meeting the load growth, and for ensuring quality and reliability of the supply systems;
- Liaise with Utility Providers (e.g. FRA, WAF, TFL, etc) to ensure smooth operation of EFL’s power grid extension projects and removal and/or relocation of existing EFL assets;
- Assist Protection Engineer in preparing model systems parameters on the Mi Power software for system studies and future planning and network augmentation works as & when required;
- Carry out other delegated duties as assigned by the Team Leader Network Design or Technical Officer Projects.
Key Requirements
- A Diploma (or higher qualification) in Electrical Engineering;
- At least four (4) years of work experience within the Design and Planning Department, OR Network Construction, Operation & Maintenance;
- Have an excellent ability in working with Microsoft Office Applications and other tools within Design and Planning Department;
- A valid Group 2 “full” Driving License (Manual Transmission) is mandatory;
- Ability to use the Load-Flow studies software on EFL Electrical Network is an added advantage.
