The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Navutu Depot and will report to the Manager Regulatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive, motivate and lead teams towards achievement of KPIs within the section;
- Plan and co-ordinate daily inspection works for inspection teams;
- Ensure that all installation or alterations of electrical wirings comply with EFL safety regulations, Electricity Act and latest AS/NZS 3000 wiring standards;
- Ensure all safety procedures are observed and adhered to according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Electricity Act and the Authority’s safety rules, procedures and standards;
- Liaising with Planning department on approvals for new connections, upgrades or rewiring
- Continual follow-up on defect notices issued to customers and disconnection of power supply when required;
- Continually monitor, review, analyse, and improve team performance within the section;
- Follow up and ensure timely action and feedback of customer complaints within the section to superiors and customers and relevant stakeholders;;
- Advise and liaise with electrical contractors on customer installations;
- Provide necessary advice to customers on electrical installations as and when required;
- Prepare regular and special reports and submit promptly as and when required including investigative reports on electric incidents, shock & electrocution;
- Responsible in keeping abreast with all changes and revisions in relevant electrical wiring, regulations and AS/NZ standards and filtering down to the inspection teams;
- Responsible for the training assessment of apprentices, trainees and other personnel under his control;
- Ensure regular upkeep and timely servicing of vehicles within the section, and prompt submission of fleet running sheets and fuel invoices from the team;
- Responsible for issue, correct use, safekeeping and re-order of test equipment, materials and spares;
- Responsible for the efficient operation and workmanship of personnel under his supervision;
- Budget Preparation, Control and Administration for the entire section;
- Provide assistance to other SBAs as and when required;
- Perform other work-related duties consistent with the responsibility assigned to the position;
- Responsible for coordination of all installation inspection activities within the designated region including the supervision of Electrical Installation Inspectors, Regulatory CSR / Clerk, Electricians, Apprentices and other Tradesperson;
- Provide technical guidance to Electrical Installation Inspectors and other subordinates with regard to the relevant wiring regulations;
- Monitor Installation Inspectors’ daily work programs;
- Maintain Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements for both EFL and Fiji Legislation;
- Close monitoring of CT meter connected customers to ensure proper wiring and correct corresponding multiplication factor is used;
- Monitor works of inspectors to ensure all relevant paperwork and correspondences are forwarded to Customer Services to close the loop on meter connections, disconnections;
- Drive Authority vehicles in line with Fleet Manual Policies & procedures;
- Other relevant duties as may assigned by the Manager Regulatory or General Manager Customer Services from time to time.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the Electricity Industry of which a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/foreman or lead role
- Valid Wireman’s license is mandatory
- Valid group 2 driving license
