VAC 112/22 - METER ELECTRICIAN ‘A’ (CENTRAL)
The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Head Office, Suva and will report to Meter Inspector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection, diagnosis and maintenance of energy meters, CT and associated metering equipment.
- Scanning for faulty and damaged meters, unauthorized connections and fraudulent use or pilferage of electricity.
- Measuring (voltage, current and power factor, Active and Reactive Energy) and testing of metering installation to ensure correct operation
- To use and maintain special testing equipment’s such as:
- CT analyzers
- Multi meters
- Power meters
- Attend to metering faults.
- Installation of domestic meters, cut outs, commercial meters, CT operated smart meters and upgrading of metering instrument;
- Climb EFL power poles and carry out works associated with service mains, service cross arms and associated hardware.
- Prepare regular and special reports and submit as and when required.
- Required to drive Authority’s vehicle and be responsible for its proper utilization and upkeep.
- Be available for and carry out afterhours standby duties.
- Carry out any other work as delegated by the supervisor
Key Requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute with one years’ relevant experience in similar field or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering with 3 years relevant experience.
- The incumbent must possess a valid Electrical Wireman’s License
- Be well versed with MS Word, Excel and be able to analyse data, write reports.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A clean valid (not provisional) driving license is essential
