METER ELECTRICIAN ‘A’ (CENTRAL)

11 September 2020

The position will be based at the EFL’s Head Office (Suva) and will report to the Meter Inspector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Maintenance of electricity meters by way of scanning meters to identify and investigate meter tampering or illegal abstraction of electricity from the EFL power grid;
  • Checking and verifying that energy meters are not bypassed including prepayment meters are not bypassed or damaged in any way;
  • Measuring and Testing in terms of measurement of voltage, current and power factor, CT ratio, burdens, accuracy and three phase vectors;
  • Attend to post pay and prepaid meter complaints and faults;
  • Installation of domestic meters, commercial meters, CT operated smart meters and upgrading of old meters;
  • Carry out any other work as delegated by the designated Meter Inspector.

Key Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a Certificate IV/Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience;
  • A valid Wireman’s license and a valid Group two (not provisional) driver’s
