VAC 33/24 - GRADUATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (WESTERN)
The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Navutu Depot, Lautoka and will report to the General Manager Special Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the engineering designs or design reviews for new development projects as required, including participation in developing project feasibility study reports;
- Prepare Tender Specifications and administer tendering process, including evaluation of tender bids and contract preparation;
- Assist with the coordination of internal stakeholders, Project Consultants and Turn-key Contractors for execution of projects;
- Assist with the commissioning of equipment within area of responsibility;
- Manage & adhere to contract conditions for implementation;
- Assist in managing and supervision of contractors as per Contractor Management System or other established management guidelines;
- Resolve technical issues in projects relating to electrical engineering; coordinate with consultants and contractors to perform or review designs and calculations;
- Manage all aspects of assigned project, lead project delivery from inception to closure, including technical design management, financial monitoring and reporting and scope and schedule management and quality control;
- Ensure at all times that HSE considerations in all facets of activities are of top priority;
- Ensure that project targets, timelines and deliverables are within budget allocations;
- Submit regular project progress reports for all assigned OPEX or CAPEX projects;
- Assist the various departments within Special Projects SBA in carrying out its role diligently and efficiently;
- Research, innovate and introduce new technology or systems;
- Ensure all work is carried out within an approved Risk Management & Mitigation framework;
- Maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, service providers and contractors;
- Represent EFL at various stages of project implementation, including witnessing of tests at manufacturer’s premises, on site and any other locations as required;
- Must be prepared to work during odd hours and/or away from base for prolonged periods;
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the General Manager Special Projects;
- Liaise and coordinate with other departments to ensure successful completion of work assignments;
- Update self with the latest industry developments and apply relevant learnings to improve SBA performance;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning.
- Demonstrate the highest level of commitment and ownership of the EFL Values.
Key Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University;
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken);
- Must be a member or be eligible to become a member of a Professional Engineering body;
- Formal training in Project Management preferred;
- A valid Group two (not provisional) Manual Driving License is mandatory;
- Must continuously live the EFL values and maintain the EFL image at all times.
