33KV Underground cable Fault Affects Suva CBD and Suburbs
33,000 volts Underground Cable Fault Affects Power Supply to the Suva Business District and Suburbs
There has been a fault on our 33,000volts underground cable that supplies power from the Vatuwaqa Substation to Suva Substation. This fault will affect power supply to the Suva Business District & suburbs.
FEA has no other option but to resort to load shedding as and when required to ease the demand off the remaining healthy transmission circuits to avoid major unplanned blackouts.
The EFL teams have been working on this fault since 2:00am this morning. At this stage, it is difficult to estimate fault location and repair times.
FEA is seeking the assistance and support of our major customers including Hotels and Corporate customers to operate their stand-by generator sets independently to cater for their power requirements.
Customers may experience intermittent power supply interruptions. However, EFL will endeavor to keep the power interruptions to a minimum.
The EFL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers which is beyond our control.
