FREE SHARES IN ENERGY FIJI LIMITED

The Fijian Government is offering free shares in Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) to all domestic electricity account holders who are Fijian citizens residing in Fiji.

While the official registration period closed on 12 June 2018, eligible customers who did not apply during the initial offer period may still submit their applications. All applications received after 12 June 2018 will be considered once the initial batch of applications has been processed.

Becoming a shareholder in EFL is a big financial opportunity. Based on the unaudited net asset value of EFL of $696 million, for the year ended 31st December 2017, the estimated notional value of each share would be approximately $1.40 per share.

‘That means the parcel of 150 shares being offered to non-subsidised customers is estimated to be valued at $210 and the parcel of 250 shares being offered to subsidised customers is estimated to be valued at $350’.

The Fijian Government is proud to be offering an even larger parcel of 250 shares to subsidised customers. EFL pre-paid customers are also eligible for the free share offer.

The value of these shares depends on the value of EFL and its future performance. We note that the net asset value per share is only one form of valuation methodology and that the value of the shares may vary greatly from the estimated notional value. The value of the shares will depend on the future performance of EFL, the ability to trade the shares, the liquidity of the shares on the SPSE, the value of the voting rights of the ordinary shares of EFL, and many other factors. The value of the shares will become more readily accessible once the shares are listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE).
