VAC 95/24 - TEAM LEADER EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Head Office, Suva and will report to the General Manager Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead an efficient and effective industrial/employment relations as measured against the performance management system (Business, Customer, People and Technical):
  • IR&ER services budgeting and budget management;
  • Plans completed - Industrial and Employee Relations Plan (EIRP);
  • Develop Strategies in accordance to the Employment Relations & Industrial Plan (EIRP).

  • Effective employee and industrial relations services provided:

    • Maintain relationships with Employees, Unions and Ministry of Labor;

  • Negotiations and agreements with Unions;
  • Log of Claims;
    • Consultation and evaluation of IR & ER implications;

    • Professional IR/ER services and advice to internal customers.

  • Compliant IR & ER:
    • Compliance audit - IR & ER;
    • Advisory services on IR & ER compliance;
    • Improvement in compliance;
    • Improvement in competence levels;
    • Reduction in IR & ER issues/disputes/lost time;
    • Reduction in IR & ER related liabilities;
    • Manage workplace compensation;

    • Manage/Facilitate/Record Transport Committee Hearings.

  • Informed Management and Board in relation to IR:
    • Monthly statistical reports – IR & ER issues and status reports;

    • IR & ER risks and liabilities e.g. outstanding issues; possible lost time and actions;

  • Display and encourage EFL image and value standards demonstrated at all times.
  • Ability to think beyond the box and make decisions;
  • Ability to find new ways of doing things through process innovation.

Shapes and Manages Strategy The ability to; understand the reasons for decisions and how they are related to their work, understand the work environment and identify issues that may impact own achievement and contribute to team planning, draw on information from a range of sources and to use common sense to analyze what information is important, anticipate issues that could impact on tasks and identify risks and uncertainties in procedures and tasks that are all important for this role.

Achieve Results The ability to monitor progress against performance expectations in ensuring deadlines are met, communicate outcomes to General Manager Human Resources and HRSBA Managers, apply and develop capabilities to meet performance expectations, demonstrate knowledge of new programs, products or services relevant to the position, work to agreed priorities, outcomes and resources and be responsive to changes in requirements are fundamental to this role.

Engage with risk by providing accurate information, seeking guidance when required and reporting potential risk issues to General Manager Human Resources.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Management/Public Administration/Human Resources and Employment/Industrial Relations undertaken from a recognized Tertiary Institute or relevant postgraduate certificate;
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the Human Resources/Employment Relations/Industrial Relations role will be an added advantage;
  • Knowledge of Pay Global system will have an added advantage;
  • Very well versed with all operating software and applications.
