VAC 120/25 - NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Head Office and will report to the Manager IT Systems.

The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of EFL’s network infrastructure across its nationwide sites. The role ensures optimal network performance, availability, and security within EFL’s hybrid environment comprising on-premise and cloud-based systems. The position will play a key role in maintaining WAN connectivity, supporting Cisco and Meraki devices, and ensuring high service uptime for business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with Systems and Security teams to ensure secure data transmission between on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Manage WAN and LAN configurations and ensure stable connectivity between corporate offices and remote sites.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and inventories.
  • Support network-related components within VMware and Nutanix environments.
  • Participate in network-related projects, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Provide escalation support for network incidents and coordinate with vendors as required.
  • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning related to network operations.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Manager IT or General Manager IT.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in enterprise network administration.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting Meraki access points.
  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN optimization and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with hybrid network environments integrating on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

Desirable

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification.
  • Experience with network automation tools or scripting.
  • Exposure to VMware NSX, Azure Networking, WAN & SD-WAN technologies.

Employment Conditions

  • Position is based in Suva, but nationwide travel to EFL sites will be required.
  • Standard working hours with flexibility depending on project delivery needs.
