The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Natural Control Center- Vuda and will report to the Generation Dispatch Coordinator.                                                                                           

Key Responsibilities:

The position will be responsible to the Generation Dispatch Coordinator for the co-ordination and preparation of Generation Dispatch plans of all Generating Assets as per Executive Instructions.

• Maintain generator characteristics database (MW, SFC, OPC and other related data)
• Generator availability monitoring
• Prepare Generation Dispatch schedule
• Carry out post-dispatch analysis and recommend improvements.
• Maintain all Generation related event database
• Ensure optimum utilization of Hydro resources.
• Monitor Metrological Forecast & ensure appropriate reflection in Generation Plan.
• Coordinate with Production Dept. to ensure compliance with PMS of all generators.
• Review & update Operational guidelines of all Generators on remote mode.
• Manage Log sheets for all stations
• Manage and maintain database for the Generation Assets
• Carry out Generation Dispatch analysis

Key Requirements:

• A Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant industrial experience;
• Good knowledge on Generation Planning Tool (GPT) Software;
• Must be proficient in English and able to prepare technical reports;
• Must have operational knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution and its associate protection control equipment and SCADA;
• Know and live EFL values with good communication, Inter personal and problem solving skills;
• Should be prepared to undertake other studies /training on order to improve skills and knowledge of Generation Dispatch;
• Should be Computer literate and have Software skills especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and ACCESS essential;
• Must be a self- starter and work under minimum supervision;
• Should hold valid Group 2 Fiji Driving License.
