VAC 18/26 –TEAM LEADER EMPLOYEE RELATIONS (CENTRAL)
The position will be based at the Energy Fiji Limited’s Head Office and will report to the Manager Employee Relations.
Key Objective: To provide advice and support to the Manager Employee Relations for all matters pertaining to Employee Relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an efficient and effective employment relations as measured against the performance management system (Business, Customer, People and Technical):
- ER services budgeting and budget management;
- Employee Relations Plan (ERP);
- Develop Strategies in accordance to the Employment Relations Plan.
- Effective employee and industrial relations services provided:
- Maintain relationships with Employees, Unions and Ministry of Employment Productivity & Employment Relations;
- Negotiations and Agreements with Unions;
- Union Log of Claims;
- Consultation and evaluation of ER implications;
- Professional ER services and advice to internal customers.
- Compliant IR & ER:
- Compliance audit - IR & ER;
- Advisory services on IR & ER compliance;
- Improvement in compliance;
- Improvement in competence levels;
- Reduction in IR & ER issues/disputes;
- Reduction in IR & ER related liabilities;
- Manage workplace compensation;
- Manage/Facilitate/Record Transport Committee Hearings.
- Informed Management and Board in relation to IR:
- Monthly statistical reports – IR & ER issues and status reports;
- IR & ER risks and liabilities e.g. outstanding issues; possible actions;
- Display and encourage EFL image and value standards demonstrated at all times.
- Ability to think beyond the box and make decisions;
- Ability to find new ways of doing things through process innovation.

Key Requirements:
- Degree in Business Management/Human Resources and Employment/Industrial Relations or related area undertaken from a recognized Tertiary Institute with 5 years’ experience in Human Resources and 3 years in Industrial/Employee Relations OR Diploma in Business Management/Human Resources and Employment/Industrial Relations or related area undertaken from a recognized Tertiary Institute and relevant postgraduate certificate with 5 years of experience in Human Resources and 5 years’ experience in Industrial /Employee Relations;
- Thorough knowledge of Employment Relations Act (ERA) 2007 and its subsequent amendments;
- Knowledge of International Labor Organization (ILO) laws and standards;
- Very well versed with all operating software and applications.
